This is a project realised for ‘Storybox: Tale of Absence, ‘What ifs’ and ‘Salvation’ an exhibition of new works inspired by the archives of Wilton’s Music Hall.
The Wilton’s collection contains hints and clues to not just the history of the building and its environment, but to the many fascinating people who walked the hallways of the world’s oldest grand music hall.
What inspired me in the creation of this animation are the photographies of Wilton’s Auditorium, the Danish Set girl, and The Great Belzoni that made me remember the sensations and the adrenaline I was feeling on the stage when I use to be dance. They helped me to bring to my mind my dream: be a choreographer. So why don’t stage a performance at Wilton’s Music Hall?
To do that I needed some dancers, I so created them combining small bits using the collage technique. They are Mikal, Tisha, Mariah, Koba, and Max: the performers of the Moving Bit crew, animating them I finally could realise my wish and create a choreography at Wilton’s Music Hall.
